BCCM Redesigns & Launches Kohn-Megibow Company’s New Website!

After 100 years of service, Kohn-Megibow Company launched its redesigned website, KMCsales.com. The largest restaurant equipment auction house in Southern California partnered with marketing experts Big Chief Creative Media (BCCM) to create a fresh, optimized site to help increase the successful company’s online presence.

“How many companies do you come across any more that have been in business over 100 years?” said Alex Ribble, founder of BCCM.

“Kohn-Megibow is a special, well-respected brand. We wanted to create a website that not only conveyed their history and experience but their massive contributions to the restaurant equipment industry in Southern California.”

KMC’s old website was outdated and failed to showcase the valuable services the company has to offer. BCCM refreshed the website with SEO-friendly content, a user-friendly design, and a designated landing page to announce upcoming auctions (kmcsales.com/this-weeks-auctions/).

Also, BCCM built the KMC blog. Now the business has a designated space to tell their unique story and share content about its 100-year history through images and optimized content.

Most recently, it featured a post about its 2009 auction with memorabilia from Death Row Records, which was co-founded by Marion “Suge” Knight and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young. The label helped launch the careers of hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur.

Case Study: McMurray Stern

BCCM initially met with storage solutions provider McMurray Stern, Inc. in October, 2012, to provide an estimate for an upgrade to their existing website. McMurray Stern was extremely open to many of our suggestions concerning website branding and content structure, and it wasn’t long before our discussions evolved into a full-fledged online lead generation strategy.

CHALLENGE

Our main challenge was that McMurray Stern had not previously engaged in marketing online and had little to no presence. They wanted to create an all encompassing platform to help support their internal sales efforts and explore new avenues of lead generation. After a short period of research and a thorough competition analysis, we predicted we could establish a robust online presence within McMurray’s service area in a relatively short period of time.
